SIGGI EGGERTSON /

m// When i was in BERLIN a few months ago I met SIGGI EGGERTSON through a mutual friend. SIGGI is an ICELANDIC graphic designer with amazing computer illustrational talents! As he puts it himself; "In My Childhood, Drawing And Computers Were My Biggest Hobbies. I Found Out That I Could Combine Those Two Into A Profession Called Graphic Design". Well, he most certainly has, in more than a decent way! SIGGI also spoke at last years VISUELT, a design conference held in OSLO annually.

I had trouble picking which pieces to show, so please visit his SITE for more digital delights!

ribbonesia /

m// How cute. Ive been loving all the paper craft that has flourished over the last few years, but this is a great idea too. Kind of like origami but with ribbons.. The work is called RIBBONESIA and is by JAPANESE illustrator BAKU MAEDA.

Sølv Studioet /

m// SOME OTHER GREAT FRIENDS of mine are the girls from SØLV STUDIOET , up and coming NORWEGIAN fashion label with a focus on timeless everyday clothing for women.

'The qualities of and the associations we have to the metal silver are used symbolicly for the values SØLV puts into the product. In Norway, as in many cultures, silver is taken care of, looked at as something precious and solid, and passed down from generation to generation. SØLV sees this as a good way to valuate all material things.'

Kevin Azzopardi /

m// A VERY GOOD FRIEND of mine, fashion designer KEVIN AZZOPARDI has his new collection coming up late this European summer. Kevin is originally from MELBOURNE / AUSTRALIA, but we are so fortunate to now have him here in OSLO!

'Kevin Azzopardi is a fashion-based practice and a platform for the exploration and experimentation of fashion as a creative medium. Drawing inspiration from the process of making, Kevin Azzopardi is focused on analyzing conventional methods of construction and finding new ways to assemble garments. The outcomes see the fusion of the structured and the fluid, and represent a modern take on menswear.'

timorous beasties/

l// so I am sitting on the ground of an apartment in West Hampstead London in the dark... Sasha is asleep next to me so I am trying to keep the peace by pretending to sleep but I am far from tired. I AM IN LONDON!!!! I am soo excited I must be peeing twice as often as I did back home. I have just been going through travel shots of my last trip this way and stumbled upon the work of Timorous Beaties, I fell in love with their work in Glasgow when I was at the School of Art in 2005. They predominantly make designs for wall paper, "At first glance it looks like one of the magnificent vistas portrayed on early 1800s Toile de Jouy wallpaper, but closer inspection reveals a nightmarish vision of contemporary Glasgow where crack addicts, prostitutes and the homeless are depicted against a forbidding backdrop of dilapidated tower blocks and scavenging seagulls". Great stuff... can't wait till I actually own a piece of wall to cover with their stuff.... bloody rentals!!!
