tarragon /

L// I cannot believe that I have waited till 29 to be swept off my feet by this amazing herb!! How have we not met before. Last night you graced my roast chicken dish and stole the show, (tiny bit of dribble).... ahhhh Tarragon. Speaking of food, has anyone noticed how beautiful cooking books are becoming these days? Here are a couple of my favourites. 'The Flavour Thesaurus' by Niki Segnit, a fellow Londoner, and 'The Geometry of Pasta', check out the website, it is slick.

sara fanelli/

L// I've had a book crush on Sara Fanelli for a while. One of those crushes where you want to buy their book but keep holding out till you've got the money... the good news is that I found some postcards which will dull my book pains for a while longer. The book is titled 'Sometimes I think, sometimes I am.' and it is beautiful... yes indeed. Born in Florence but currently thriving in London... Sara is one to watch.

HAIL /

m // Close friend and travel partner, costume designer ZOHIE CASTELLANO, has recently worked on the AUSTRALIAN feature film HAIL, directed by the very talented AMIEL COURTIN-WILSON and produced by MICHAEL CODY. The film has received great reviews and was selected for Official Competition in the Orrizonti section as part of VENIZE FILM FESTIVAL, the first Australian dramatic feature in nearly ten years... The whole cast and crew of the film came down for the festival and we were fortunate to spend some time with them at the end of our stay. During dinner one evening DANNY proposed to LEANNE at the table, and they are now set to marry after the end of the festival. Romantic Venezia!

'Dan is in love with Leanne. They were born on the same day: November 6, 1960. They eat together. They live together. They steal together. When Dan’s love is suddenly ripped away from him, he is reduced to savagery. Dan swallows. Dan tries to sleep. Dan tries to hide. Suffocating and filled with violence, Dan thrashes against the tide and goes on a journey to take back what is his. The past is not a dead thing – it may return, like a hunter, to follow us for a time.'

la biennale di Venetzia 2011 /

m // ...of course I couldn't go to VENEZIA without visiting this years BIENNALE, the 54th International Art Exhibition! It was absolutely fantastic! One ticket gives you entrance to both of the pavillions for two days. This was not enough time at all and we were left a little overwhelmed and almost a bit drained by all the art at the end of it.. however it is absolutely worth it! I believe I will find myself visiting both VENEZIA and the BIENNALE several times in the future.
