home SWEET home/

l// We went to the V & A again today to see Beatrix Potter exhibition, however what really caught my interest was the 'Architects build small spaces' exhibit. They had seven small structures sprinkled throughout the Museum, from architectural firms across the globe. You can check out the seven tiny wonders on this blog, though it's always hard to capture the beauty of a space on screen, something gets lost in the translation. Up the top there is The Ark by Rintala Eggertsson Architects (photo by Pasi Aalto), this was a tiny tower functioning as a library... the pages of the books (when lined up together) seemed like an extention of the timber. Next there are the Beetle's houses by Terunobu Fujimori, there was a similar structure built within the museum. The bottom one is just an image I found whilst searching for the others, they are called free spirit spheres by Tom Chudleigh. Seriously... I always daydream about living in a caravan but hanging from a tree.... yipeeeeee!!! If you are reading this and you know Thom please help me convince him that living in one of these is a great idea, so far it looks like I have a slight chance in 20 years time... boooo! Perhaps I will try for a beetle house...
